The 2 km of coast between Joyce and Lovers Bays is all a marine park, while the backing slopes are part of the national park. This section of coast is well worth visiting, as it contains these four small, usually calm and picturesque bays and beaches.
Joyce Bay (MT17) is a 50 m long pocket of north facing sand, backed by steeply rising, wooded, granite slopes. Granite boulders both fringe and outcrop on the beach and in the small bay. The beach is almost awash at high tide and is 40 m wide at low tide. Waves are usually low to calm.
Beach Length: 0.05km
