The 5 km of coast south of the western side of Cape Cleveland arches around in a broad, west facing bay, with a shore consisting of prominent granite slopes and headlands and three beaches; the longest, Long Beach, is 1.5 km in length. There is no access to these beaches other than by boat at high tide or on foot from the Cape Ferguson Road 20 km to the south.
Cape Cleveland Beach (874) is a 200 m long pocket of sand located immediately below the western side of the cape. The Cape Cleveland Lighthouse and some houses sit atop the 40 m high cape, and the beach is used to service the lighthouse. It has a concrete boat ramp that is useable at high tide, together with some storage sheds and a vehicle track up to the lighthouse. The beach itself consists of a 20 m wide high tide beach fronted by a small fringing coral reef, that widens toward the northern end.
