The 5 km of coast south of the western side of Cape Cleveland arches around in a broad, west facing bay, with a shore consisting of prominent granite slopes and headlands and three beaches; the longest, Long Beach, is 1.5 km in length. There is no access to these beaches other than by boat at high tide or on foot from the Cape Ferguson Road 20 km to the south. Red Rock Bay Beach (873) occupies a small, 250 m wide embayment, with granite rocks bordering each end. Mangroves grow along the rocky shore, as well as a few on the northern end, where a small creek drains across the beach. The beach is 10 m wide at high tide, widening to 30 m at low tide, where it merges with tidal flats extending another 300 m into the bay.
