South of Cattle - Eleanor Creeks down to the mouth of Hencamp Creek at Balgal is 24 km of lower energy, north-east facing, crenulate shoreline, consisting of occasional creek mouths, narrow high tide beaches and extensive sand (and increasingly rocky) tidal flats. This section of coast is slowly being developed, with fishing shacks along the beach north of Crystal Creek and a newer development on the north side of Hencamp Creek. The Crystal - Ollera Creek Beach (837) is 8.5 km long, with a highly crenulate shoreline, owing to variations in the 500 m wide rock and sand flats. Several small creeks also drain across the low beach and there are patches of mangroves along the low energy beach. A 4WD track runs 2 km to the beach from the Bruce Highway at Moongbulla railway siding. There is no development and no facilities at the beach, which is, however, used for beach boat launching.
Beach Length: 7km
General Hazard Rating: 1/10
