Sinclaire Bay is a south facing, low energy bay located at the eastern end of Edgecumbe Bay. It is bounded by 1 km long Sinclaire spit on the west and a mangrove-fringed, rocky shore to the east, with open Miralda Creek entering the eastern end of the bay. A 7 km long gravel road from Dingo Beach runs along the eastern shore of the bay and across the back of the beach, continuing up along the coast to Cape Gloucester, 6 km to the north. There are houses located on both the main and western bay beaches. Sinclaire Bay beach (971) averages 1.2 km in length, but can be extended through growth of the western spit. The spit is the southernmost and bayward part of a series of several low beach ridges that have built out into the bay over the past few thousand years. A number of houses are located toward the eastern side of the beach near where it links with the backing hill slopes. The beach is narrow at high tide, widening to a tidal flat at low tide, with waves restricted to wind chop across the 3 km wide bay.
