East of Earlando the shoreline is dominated by four protruding wooded ridges that extend up to 4 km toward the north-north-east, with equally deep Double and Woodwark bays in between. The 50 km of shoreline contain ten beaches totalling only 4 km; all are dominated by the presence of rocks on the beach or in the fronting tidal flats, as well as being bordered by rocky shores and headlands.
Beach 1002 is an 800 m long, north facing beach located between two narrow headlands that extend up to 1 km seaward of the beach. The beach is moderately steep, consists of sand to cobbles, is fronted by intertidal rock flats, with mangroves fringing the ends and a small fringing reef off the western end.
