It faces south-west into Upstart Bay and is a 150 m strip of high tide sand, fronted by beachrock and shallow sand flats, while ten shacks occupy the back of the beach and backing slopes. A small creek descending steeply from the backing slopes drains out across the northern end of the beach and has deposited boulders at its mouth, which are covered in mangroves.
