Oombunghi Beach lies 9 km south of the Yarrabah settlement and is connected to it by a gravel road. The road reaches the southern end of the beach and runs on along the coast to the southern two beaches. There are scattered houses and shacks along the road and on all three beaches. There is also a vehicle track to the northern end, and a few houses. Oombunghi Beach (738) is 4.5 km long and faces south-east, into the Trades, and is bordered by Deception Point to the north and lower rocks to the south. The beach has a moderately steep high tide beach, owing to the medium to coarse sand, fronted by a continuous bar 50 to 100 m wide. Waves surge up the beach at high tide and break across the bar at mid to low tide. There is a small creek draining across the beach toward its southern end, with several beachfront houses between the creek mouth and the southern boundary rocks.
Beach Length: 4.5km
