West of Blackfellows Caves the coast is dominated by the low limestone bluffs and reefs, the eroding bluffs supplying cobbles to form many of the beaches, the reefs reducing the high offshore waves to calm at the shoreline. The Blackfellows Caves-Carpenters Rocks road parallels the back of most of the beaches providing easy access.
Nine hundred meters west of Blackfellows Caves is a 400 m long narrow sand beach (33) located below 5 m high overhanging limestone bluffs. The road runs along the top of the bluffs. It mergers in the west with a protruding cobble foreland consisting of a series of distinct cobble ridges (34) which sit atop a 50 m wide intertidal limestone rock flat, which receives moderate waves on its outer edge.
