Immediately west of the bay the shore continues as a steep cobble beach (38) for 800 m backed by about 20 shacks and fronted by shallow rock flats. At the western end it grades into a more sandy beach (39) at The Rapids, a semi-circular 700 m long bay with shacks at either end and a low foredune along the beach. A 10 m high calcarenite point protrudes 500 m to the south with a pocket 50 m long east facing beach (40) out on the eastern side of the point.
