Brownlow is a small beachfront settlement located 2 km south of Kingscote. The 1.5 km long settlement is fronted by a narrow high tide beach (KI-13), then sand flats that widen from 300 m in the north to 900 m in the south. Past the houses, the Kingscote golf course backs the beach for another 1.2 km. The beach terminates in a series of 500 m long spits that form the northern side of the Cygnet River mouth.
