King Head protrudes 500 m to the south, and tucked on its eastern side is a 200 m long pocket of sand (166) which receive lower waves and usually has a steep beach fronted by narrow bar, and is usually free of surf and rips. Grassy to rocky bluffs back and border the beach, and some rock reef lie off the beach. A farm backs the beach with access via the coastal walking track.

Swimming

Kings Head is the only relatively safe beach, as Petrel Cove and Ralgnal are dominated by rocks and rips.

Surfing

Chance of a short beach break at Petrel Cove, however watch the rocks.

Fishing

This is a popular spot with permanent rip holes and good access from both the beaches and rocks.

General

Three rock dominated sand beaches, all lying along the coastal walking track to Newland Head.
