he next three beaches are contained in a 400 m wide embayment, bordered by 20 m high bluffs, with smaller bluffs cutting the shoreline into three small beaches, each also influence by reefs in and across the bay mouth. The 4WD track winds through the dune just behind the beaches. Beach 116 is a curving 70 m long pocket of sand bordered by low bluffs and fronted by reefs 100 m offshore, enclosing the beach in a protected ‘lagoon’, with only low waves at the shore and a steep barless beach. This is one of the safer beaches for swimming. Beach 117 is 350 m long beach bordered by low protruding calcarenite bluffs and reefs, with a 100 m long beach rock reef paralleling the southern half of the beach, leaving a 20 to 30 m wide channel in between. Beach 118 continues on the other side of the northern rocks for another 100 m, and becomes increasingly backed by vegetated bluffs rising to about 20 m high.
