Queen Head beach (122) runs from the rocks at the northern side of Domaschenz beach for 1.3 km past one reef to the more prominent Queen Head reef, which forms a sandy foreland that protrudes 300 m seaward. The beach is backed by several active dunes, and fronted by a 100 m wide bar broken by patchy reefs, resulting in two beach and four reef-controlled rips. On the northern side of the foreland is 1.6 km long Back beach (123) which runs up to Stony Rise. This is the most energetic beach along this section with waves averaging 1.6 m and breaking across a 200 to 300 m wide surf zone, dominated by 3 to 4 large beach rips, together with boundary rips against the reefs. Active dunes back much of the beach.
Beach Length: 1.3km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
