West of Horseshoe beach, bedrock based, calcarenite cliffs dominate, with the beaches wedged in at the base of the bluffs. Beach 1078 is a crenulate 900 m long high tide sand beach lying at the base of 20 to 30 m high cliffs, and fronted by a mixture of bedrock and deeper reefs.
