Beach 84 is a convex sandy beach, building out in lee of a 100 m long reef lying 150 m offshore. The reef lowers wave in the centre of the beach, but still sufficient energy gets through to maintain rip currents flowing out either side of the reef.

Swimming

These are sevenpotentially hazardous beaches dominated by rocks, reefs and permanent rips. Use extreme care if swimming here.

Surfing

There are numerous reef breaks amongst the beaches, with the best beach breaks on the Five Mile beach.

Fishing

There are excellent beach and rock holes the length of this section.

General

A popular section of coast explored by the 4WD fraternity, it provide easy access to some excellent beaches and dunes, without having to go too far off the bitumen.
