Pigeon Cove beach (80) extends for 400 north of Woolly Rock as a curving southwest facing beach, which is partially protected by shoreline and offshore reefs, which lower waves to less than 1 m and maintain a steep, barless beach. While waves are low at the beach, wave breaking over the reefs maintains a permanent rip which drains the cove.
