On the north side of Cape Buffon a strip of sand runs along the base of the 10 to 15 m high calcarenite bluffs, broken by the rocks into three small beaches, each backed and bordered by calcarenite bluffs, rocks and reef flats. The sealed rock to the cape runs along the top of the bluffs with a car park on the point providing the best access to the beaches. However these three beaches are not noticed by most visitors, they are also difficult to safely access and little used. The first beach (64) is a 60 m long narrow strip of sand mainly awash at high tide, and broken by protruding rocks and boulders and fronted by 100 m wide reef flats. The second beach (65) is a about 10 m wide, 60 m long and more continuous with reef flats, while the third 50 m long beach (66) is fronted by sand and offers the best swimming.
Beach Length: 0.1km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
