Mounce and Battye Rocks beach (56) consists of two patches of sand contained in a 250 m long south facing break in the reefs. The high tide sand beaches are fronted by intertidal reefs, then a 200 m wide rip dominated surf zone. There are shell rich middens in the exposed soils on the bluffs behind the northern end of the beach
