The Foul Bay boat ramp marks the end of the long sandy Foul Bay beach and the beginning of 15 km of rocky shoreline composed of bedrock metasediments, and for the most part capped by calcarenite bluffs and cliffs up to 40 m high. The first 10 km round to Foul Hill contains eight rock controlled beaches backed by bluffs and farmland with no public access.
The first three beach lie between the boat ramp and Point Yorke. They face east and receive low waves. Each is backed by vegetated 20 m high bedrock bluffs, and then clifftop farmland. The first (359) is a crenulate 700 m long narrow high tide beach at the base of the bluffs, and is fronted by seagrass meadows.
