The Gap beach (397) lies 1 km west of the end of beach 396, and is located in a prominent gap in the bedrock and calcarenite, with the 50 m high cliffs overhanging the inaccessible pocket beach. Likewise its neighbour on Reef Head, is another inaccessible 100 m long pocket beach (398) lodged deep inside a cliff bound cove and appropriately named Howling Cave beach.
