Beach 403 runs for almost 2 km straight to West Cape and is the most exposed and highest energy beach on the Yorke Peninsula. It receives waves averaging over 1.5 m., which usually maintain eight beach rips, together with two strong rips against the boundary rocks. The beach can be accessed on foot from the Ethel car park, on at the northern car park on West Cape, both requiring a steep climb down the dunes to the beach. Massive dunes and blowouts extend up to 1 km behind the beach.
