Beach 424 is partly protected by rocky point and reefs to the west and its northwest orientation. It receives usually low waves, increasing slightly up the beach to where it terminates at a low calcarenite bluff and bedrock reef. Rocks and reefs also outcrop along much of the southern half of the beach, with deeper reefs offshore.
