Port Giles is consists of a 600 m long jetty, backed by tall white wheat storage silos and loading facilities, but no commercial facilities. Either side of the port are 4 km of relatively straight, east facing 20 m high bluffs, terminating in the south at Giles Point. Along the base of the bluffs are a few low energy sand and boulder beaches for the most part fronted by rock and some sand flats. The main road runs along the top of the bluffs providing good views and bluff top access to all the beaches.
Beach 326 is a 60 m long pocket of sand 500 m north of the jetty, located below steep bluffs and the road and fronted by 50 m wide rock flats.
