Stenhouse Bay is an open south-eats facing bay that extends for 2.5 km west of Rhino Head. It contains three small beaches, the main beach (384) is 1.2 km long, faces south and occupies the northwestern corner of the bay. The narrow beach is backed by low dune covered bluffs in the west, narrowing to the east where it is fronted by an intertidal rock platform and backed by increasingly irregular bluffs eventually giving way to the bluffs and platform. The Stenhouse Bay road clips the western end of the beach, and there are fuel storage tanks between the road and the beach, but otherwise no facilities.
Beach Length: 1.2km
General Hazard Rating: 4/10
