Hungry Point is the northern point of the foreland and running northwest from the point is a 1.5 km long low sand beach (335), fronted by sand flats that merge toward the point with the 2 km wide Tourbridge Shoals. A gravel road runs behind the beach out to the point, with over 50 shacks spread along between the road and the beach. Fishers moor their boats over the sand flats, where they lie high and dry at low tide.
