Beach 427 runs from the northern side of the bluffs for 1.1 km to Point Margaret a 30 m high dune covered bedrock point and reef. The bluffs in the south give way to 20 m high foredune in the north and in lee of the point. Waves average just over 1 m and usually four strong beach rips dominate the surf (Fig. 4.93).
