West End Beach (FI 98) lies due east of Roydon Island and extends northwest of Bun Beetons Point for 1.2 km as a slightly curving reflective to low tide terrace beach. It receives refracted waves averaging about 1 m, which maintain the low gradient beach and narrow bar, with clear sand, then seagrass growing 100 m offshore (Fig. 4.308). It is bordered by granite rocks and backed by a well vegetated series of transgressive dunes that have migrated up to 700 m inland and reached 40 m in elevation. A small creek is deflected 600 m to the north and drains across the northern end of the beach. The West End Road runs along the rear of the dunes with an access track to the northern end.
Beach Length: 1.2km
General Hazard Rating: 4/10
