Beach KI 71 is located at the end of Percys Road, a 3 km long track across the dunes. The beach faces west and extends for 500 m between a southern rocky point and a small rock outcrop. It is fronted by shallow reefs and rocks extending 400 m offshore, with the beach restricted to the rear of the rocks. Beach KI 72 continues north of the boundary outcrop for 1.25 km to the next major rock outcrop. It consists of a continuous crenulate high tide beach with patches of sandbar in amongst the rocks and reefs, which dominate the beach and extend 400-500 m seaward. Waves break over the rocks and reefs, with several rips in amongst the reefs. Beach KI 73 is a 150 m long curving pocket of sand located at the northern end of the main beach. It is tied to rock reefs, with a reef-filled seafloor extending 500 m offshore. The three beaches are exposed to waves averaging over 2 m on the outer reefs, with lower waves at the shore. A wide reef-dominated surf zone persists, with several rips in amongst the reefs. The beaches are all backed by a continuous Holocene transgressive dune field that extends 2-3 km inland and reaches over 60 m in height. Bungaree Creek is located 500 m north of the beach system.
