The main beach (KI 49) receives considerably higher waves averaging 1.5-2.5 m which maintain an inner transverse bar and rip systems usually cut by two to three beach rips, as well as boundary rips against the points, and an outer bar located 200 m offshore and drained by a large rip against the northern rocks.
The beaches are backed by a massive Holocene parabolic dune field that reaches 96 m in height and extends up to 2.5 km inland to the South Road and where they have dammed the Attrills and Pearshape lagoons. The dunes are largely well vegetated and stable with only a few patches of instability.
Beach Length: 1.2km
