At Green Point, the low rocks and reefs have been encased in a 300 m long seawall, which is backed by Brighton Beach Gardens. On the north side of the wall are Holloway and Dendy Street Beaches, both tied to cuspate forelands in lee of more prominent rock reefs. Holloway Beach curves around for just 200 m and is backed by a reserve and scout hall. Pulses of sand move along Green Point and onto Holloway, often forming a small lagoon between the sand pulse and the beach. Dendy Street Beach is 500 m long and tied to two reefs, with the famous series of colourful boat sheds lining most of the beach. The Esplanade parallels both beaches and there are large car parks in the Brighton Gardens, and at the northern end of Dendy Street. The two beaches face due west and are exposed to strong westerly winds and waves. However, extensive reefs lie off both beaches, resulting in deeper rip channels against the reefs, and only a bar along the northern section of Dendy Street Beach.
