Dinosaur Cove is located below 40 m high bluffs on the eastern side of Rotten Point. There is a track to the top of the bluffs with a steep climb required to reach the cove. The beach consists of an 80 m long boulder beach with 50 m of sand, fronted by a bar with scattered rocks and reef. A permanent rip runs out of the 200 m wide mouth of the cove.
