Slippery Point and Sutherland Beaches are a western extension of Johanna Beach. Slippery Point Beach is 100 m long and bordered by 30 m high, short headlands and rock platforms. Six hundred metre long Sutherland Beach is backed by higher slopes and has cliffs to the west. The two beaches are backed by steep, 30 to 50 m high, vegetated bluffs and the easiest access is around the rocks at low tide from neighbouring Johanna Beach. A steep bluff at the end of Sutherland Beach separates it from the 70 m long, pocket sand beach at the mouth of Deep Creek. This beach shares the outer surf zone with Sutherland Beach, but has an inner surf zone dominated by rock reefs. The three beaches face south-west and receive waves averaging over 1.5 m, which produce distinct bars and rips, like at Johanna Beach.
