On the southern side of the Wye River mouth, as the Great Ocean Road slowly climbs toward Point Sturt, there is a 200 m long, east facing platform beach. It is wedged in between rock platforms and reefs, with a 50 m opening to the surf. Waves are usually lower than at Wye River and the surf zone is shallow, however a permanent rip runs out between the platforms.
