Beach 449 is located in a 200 m long gorge at the base of 50 m high cliffs. Next door is a 100 m long beach at the base of 60 m high cliffs, that is fronted by a solitary sea stack, with Sentinel Rock lying at the western end of the beach. Both beaches are dominated by high waves and rips and neither is accessible or suitable for recreation.
