Shipwreck Creek is the site of a small but popular National Park camping area. It can be reached by 4WD along the Betka Track from Mallacoota, or on foot along the Coastal Walking Track. Overnight camping is provided for hikers, while longer term campers need to book in holiday periods. The camp is located on the bluffs above the beach. The beach blocks the mouth of Shipwreck Creek, which flows as a shallow stream across the northern end of the wide, 350 m long sandy beach. The beach faces almost due south and picks up most waves, with wave heights averaging 1.5 m. These usually form two strong rips across the beach, with one permanent rip against the eastern headland.
