At the western end of the main Thurra Beach are some low rounded granite rocks, just past which is Thurra South Beach. This 200 m long beach faces the east which, together with Point Hicks, affords considerable protection from the southerly waves. They average about 0.5 m at the beach and have built a wide, low foredune and beach, fronted by a shallow attached bar, with a rip running out against the eastern rocks.
Beach Length: 0.2km
