Between The Basin and Reef Point is 5 km of shoreline dominated by the low basalt point, with extensive basalt reefs offshore. Between the points are three crenulate, south facing beaches, backed by marram covered dunes. They are fronted by variable surf zones, depending on the presence and influence of the reefs. The first beach is 1.7 km long and lies between The Basin and Sisters Point. It is accessible off The Basin track, with two car parks and tracks over the dunes to the beach. It has continuous reefs off the eastern half, and offshore reef at the western half. The beach has an attached bar, that is interrupted by the reefs. There are rips to the west, with a permanent rip flowing out in lee of the offshore reef.
Beach Length: 1.7km
