Three hundred metres west of the western Crofts Bay car park are two small pocket beaches. These are located at the base of the bluffs that form the low headland between the Bay of Martyrs and the Bay of Islands. The first, Beach 478, is 100 m long and bordered by small cliffs and a sea stack, with reefs extending 200 to 300 m offshore. The second, Beach 479, is in a small gorge and is 50 m long. There are channels off the beach, and platforms, reefs and sea stacks to either side and offshore. The reefs reduce the waves, which average less than 0.5 m at the shore.
Beach Length: 0.05km
