The ship Falls Of Halladale was wrecked on reefs off these two beaches in 1908. Today a vehicle track and car park are located on the bluffs above the site. The two adjoining beaches are located on the western side of the 15 m high, limestone headland. Both beaches are pockets of sand backed by the bluffs and fronted by sea stacks and reefs off the beaches.
