James Irvine and Water Tower Beaches are two small pockets of sand located out on the Peterborough headland. There is a car park on the low headland and a grassy reserve on the 10 m high bluffs behind the two adjoining beaches. The water tower stands on the bluffs above the western end of the beach that is named for it. James Irvine Beach is fronted by a continuous, calcarenite, intertidal platform that is exposed at low tide. Water Tower Beach is similar, but with some deeper water close inshore.
Beach Length: 0.06km
