The Craigs is a well-known coastal access spot located at the end of 3 km long Craigs Road. The road ends at the crest of 20 m high calcarenite bluffs, from where there are good views of the jagged coast. A few small, south-west facing beaches lie at the base of the bluffs, for the most part fronted by shallow calcarenite reefs. There are six beaches to the east of the car park beach and two to the west. All the beaches have narrow, high tide strips of sand, with variable degrees of fronting reef. All receive low to no waves at low tide and lowered waves that have broken on the outer reefs at high tide. Beaches 524 and 525 are both 100 m long and occupy the eastern and western halves of a small bay, with exposed reef flats fronting the beaches at low tide and outer reefs offshore.
