The calcarenite bluffs, rocks and reefs that dominate The Craigs give way to more open beaches 1 km west of the car park. The first is a 500 m long, south-west facing beach with some reefs along its eastern half and offshore reefs at either end. Two permanent rips drain the beach and flow out past the bordering reefs. Past the western reef is 4.2 km long Hummock Beach, which is exposed to waves averaging over 1.5 m. It has a 400 m wide surf zone, with an inner bar dominated by rips spaced every 400 m, and an outer bar with more widely spaced rips. Active dunes extend up to 1 km inland of the two beaches. Access to these beaches is limited to walking in from The Craigs car park.
Beach Length: 4.2km
