Yambuk Beach lies at the mouth of the Eumeralla River and Lake Yambuk. Yambuk Road runs out 4 km from the highway to the beach, picnic area and caravan park. The beach faces south-west and is 1.5 km long. It is located between two calcarenite reefs, with the river flowing out behind the western reef. The car park is behind the dunes in the centre of the beach, with high, active dunes to the east and lower dunes between the river and the beach to the west.
Swimming
This is a very hazardous beach, dominated by strong rips every 500 m and permanent rips against the reefs. Be very careful if swimming here and stay close inshore in the swash or on the inner bar if attached, and well clear of the rips and reefs. The safest place to swim is in the lake.
Surfing
This is a relatively popular spot due to the good access, with best beach breaks on a low swell and northerly winds.
Fishing
There is both lake and surf fishing here, together with a few holes around the reefs.
General
A popular summer holiday campsite, with a quiescent lake, but a hazardous beach.
