Salmon Beach (376) is 1.4 km long, faces southwest, and receives waves averaging just under 1 m. These combine with the medium sand to form a steep cusped reflective beach, with a surging shorebreak. The southwest winds have blown the sand up onto the backing bluffs and up to 1 km inland as a series of clifftop parabolic dunes, with the drive skirting the rear of the dunes. During period of higher waves the beach has a heavy shorebreak. It is bordered in the east by the sloping rocks of Hillock Point, and steep calcarenite cliffs in the west.
Beach Length: 1.4km
General Hazard Rating: 3/10
