Beachsafe Website

Beachsafe is brought to you by Surf Life Saving Australia as part of our ongoing commitment to education and safety in the aquatic environment.

The site includes current information and conditions for every beach in Australia. It shows patrol services, hazards and facilities as well as weather, swell and tide details. Beachsafe is designed to help you choose the right beach for your needs, so you can relax and enjoy your visit.

Staying safe and making the most of the coast requires knowledge and skills. The Surf Ed section of this website will help you learn about the beach, the science of the surf and the creatures in our oceans as well as surf skills and first aid. It's all about helping you to enjoy our beautiful coast.

Surf Life Saving

Surf Life Saving Australia is the nation’s peak coastal water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority. Surf Life Saving exists to save lives, create great Australians and build better communities. Since the movement was established in 1907, more than 630,000 people have been rescued by our surf lifesavers.

Despite significant advancements in technology, techniques and knowledge, people still drown on the coast in unacceptable numbers. We are committed to reducing the coastal drowning rate by 50 per cent by 2025.

Surf Life Saving Australia includes 314 local surf lifesaving clubs and seven state and territory centres. It is a unique not-for-profit community cause that exists through community donations, fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government grants. Becoming involved in surf lifesaving is a great way to learn more and to increase your aquatic safety skills. There is something for everyone, learn more about how you can get involved.
