South of Pedro Point is a 2.4 km long beach (NSW 567) that sweeps in a broad east-facing arc to the usually closed mouth of Congo Creek, located in lee of the low reefs of Congo Point. The gravel road from Moruya Heads runs 100-200 m behind the beach, with three access tracks across the low dunes to the beach. Another road runs into Congo Point terminating at the south side of the creek where there is a small national park camping area. Once south of Pedro Point the beach receives waves averaging 1.5 m, which maintain a transverse bar and rip system, with rips every 300-400 m. The intervening bars alternate between being attached and detached with a longshore trough joining the rips. At the southern end is Congo Point and a low reef that joins the beach.
Beach Length: 2.5km
