Beach NSW 569 is a 140 m long pocket of sand bordered by two 30 m high basalt headlands fronted by rock platforms. It is an exposed beach usually drained by one permanent rip against the northern rocks. During high seas the sand is stripped off the beach exposing a continuous rock platform. Beach NSW 570 is located 100 m to the south and consists of a 200 m long sandy beach, bordered and backed by the basalt platforms, cliffs and densely vegetated bluffs. It is well exposed and usually has 100 m wide surf zone drained by permanent rips to either end. All three beaches receive waves averaging 1.5 m, which produce a single bar linking the three beaches. The bar is cut by up to seven rips along Congo Beach, together with permanent rips running out against the rocks each end, and usually the north headland of the southern two beaches.
Beach Length: 0.2km
General Hazard Rating: 6/10
