Beach NSW 598 is located inside the entrance wall. It is a curving 360 m long strip of sand located between the northern wall and a southern internal channel wall. It faces east out the 60 m wide trained entrance, with only low waves reaching the shore. These maintain a steep reflective beach, however the deep inlet channel and strong tidal currents are located 100 m offshore and hard against the southern wall. A swimming net is located across the northern corner of the beach clear of the currents. There is a car park at the northern end and a walking track the length of the beach.

Swimming

On Bar Beach avoid the rips and stay on the bars. On the inlet beach only swim in the enclosure and avoid the tidal currents and deep channel.

Surfing

Bar Beach is popular for its beach breaks, plus the Narooma breakwater (entrance wall) at the southern end.

Fishing

The North (entrance) Wall is readily accessible and the most popular spot. Good gutters also occur up the beach.
