Dark Beach lies to the south in the next narrow southeast-facing rocky bay with 1 km long Flat Rock Point forming the southern boundary. It can be reached from a spur off the coast track that terminates at a car park on the hill on the south side of the beach. A track leads down the slope to the southern beach. The small bay contains two pocket beaches separated by a central rock outcrop (Fig. 4.369). The northern beach (NSW 516N) is a 60 m long pocket of reflective white quartz sand, bordered and backed by 20 m high cliffs, with the boundary rocks protruding 40 m seaward in the south, and a reef-dominated bay floor. The southern beach (NSW 516S) is a curving 200 m long east-facing, high tide dark cobble beach, with the rock reefs extending to its base. Both beaches receive waves usually less than 1 m in height with surge up the steep beach faces, with deep water close inshore.
